Summer programme

July and August have, for a few years been times of travelling around many miles teaching at various camps and clubs, but we felt that having two small children now, it would not be so practical to take on quite so much, especially as preparation time would be limited. This year has therefore been different, although the two bigger girls didn’t want to give up the travels altogether, so have kept us on the go!
We had a week in Edinburgh at the beginning of July, where we were helping with the Faith Mission convention. It went really well this year, and we had no major problems in the sound & recording corner!
We had a few days break then, before taking Bethany to friends who had kindly agreed to take her to Keswick convention.
Life without one daughter was a little quieter, but the following week both Bethany and Lydia headed off to the Faith Mission camp in Inverness. Eden meanwhile, has started to get mobile, and much quicker than her siblings is already starting to pull herself up onto furniture and boxes, some of which are not quite big enough to hold her up!
Some of our friends who work in the South of Ireland were back in Britain for a few days, and we had agreed to meet them in Edinburgh, so we are just back from there, having made the most of being near shops, getting supplies for the Holiday Bible Club we have planned for next week.
Looking for clues
The club runs from 5-9 August, each morning from 10.30-12noon and is entitled “Good news clues”. Each day, we will be investigating stories from the Bible, and looking for clues, leading us to discover new life in Jesus.

Church life is a little different for us now, since a few families have moved away. We would love to see some new folks coming along, but are adjusting to life as a smaller part of God’s great church. As a result, however, we have decided not to have services in the evening for a while to allow the busy families who remain to have extra time as a family or to worship with other fellowships without having the responsibility of preparing or leading an extra service.
