Well, where do we start? Our site has been out of date and likely out of use for some time, so here goes for an update!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jonathan and Elizabeth Tink are a Christian couple who have been called by the Lord to be missionaries, and in more recent years have taken the position of pastor in various church fellowships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They are currently working in the highlands of Scotland with Fort William Baptist Church<\/a> but were previously missionaries on the Isle of Skye for ten years, in Gorgie Mission in Edinburgh for five years and with the Faith Mission<\/a> in Ireland for 8-10 years before that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They are assisted in their work by their two adult daughters; Bethany and Lydia, and increasingly by their younger son; Nathaniel, and daughter; Eden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They see their most immediate mission field as their home. They realise that the Christian family unit is very much under attack from many directions these days, so they actively take steps to counteract this. They attempt this in a number of ways, including family devotions<\/strong>, they try to spend some time each day reading and considering a portion of God’s word. They seek to back this up by bringing Christ into every area of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They recognise that many of their meetings and activities occur in the evenings, at the weekends and in the summer holidays, so they seek to spend quality time with the family during the day, a goal made possible because of home education<\/strong>. It takes time and commitment, but they consider it more than worthwhile in a number of different ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They also make the effort to get the family involved with Sunday school as well as other clubs and activities in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another aspect of their mission field is their neighbours; they love getting involved in a neighbourhood and usually have an open door with plenty of visitors. (This aspect of their work was very much put on hold during the ‘lock-downs of 2020\/21 in response to the co-vid 19 pandemic which has been a bit frustrating since they only began their new work a few weeks earlier!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Then there is the more “obvious” church and missionary work: Regular preaching opportunities, networking with other Christian workers, and ministers in the area, and some involvement in youth work. There is significant study involved in preparing fresh messages for the congregation each week, along with the pastoral care and practical oversight and planning with the leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your interest is very much appreciated.
